My third reason why deserts merit study is because desertification is happening! Here is an inspiring and informative TED talk that outlines a simple solution to reversing desertification and ultimately climate change. Although I do not in any way believe all deserts across the world should be “greened”, I support the reversal of unnatural desertification and the return of recent deserts to their original grassland form. Thank, Allan Savory, for providing a real solution to one of the worlds biggest ecological problems!
